She was 5’9”. He was 5’8”.

They met at a tennis club. When they played doubles, he made her laugh so hard that she dropped her racquet. Twice.

They grew close — dinners, concerts, texting all the time.

Then she showed him a draft of a new online dating profile she wrote about herself.

“I need a guy’s perspective,” she said. “What do you think?”

“I think you should date me,” he told her.

“I can’t,” she said. “You’re too short.”

Too short for what?!

I suspect this woman didn’t know the immense advantages that shorter men have over taller men when it comes to relationships.

Here, I’ll tell you about 11 of those advantages so you don’t make the same mistake she made. Then I’ll tell you the fate of this heightist woman.

1. Shorter men whine less.

Their backs can “go out” if they’re not doing what’s needed to maintain those fragile dorsal columns.
