5 Things in Life — and Relationships — That Are Ass Backwards

We could save relationships and prevent divorces if these things were in the proper order

‘Ass backwards’ describes things that are out of order, causing confusion, pain, and failure.

It would be ass backwards if you waited ‘til your tank was completely empty before filling it with gas; if you started cooking before buying the ingredients; or if you shot a gun before loading it with ammo.

I think that explains a lot of failures in relationships, including the high divorce rate. We’re getting a lot of things out of order when it comes to dating and marriage.

Let me give you five examples to show you what I mean.

Maybe if these things were in a better sequence, we’d see stronger relationships and fewer divorces.

1. Movie Trailers

Going to the movies is expensive.

Before we spend money on a ticket, we want to know if the movie is going to be worth it. So we watch movie trailers, but these days, the movie trailers tell us the whole plot of the movie, plus the punchlines.
