Absolutely a partnership can be sufficient for some people. For me, marriage has nothing to do with religion. Strangely, I want the bullshit that comes with marriage, but I realize many don't. I guess the key is to be with someone who shares the view. If one person wants partnership and the other one wants marriage, it's interesting to see how they resolve that disparity.
