When and how to check financial compatibility
“John, I know it’s awkward, but I think you’re going to have to talk to her about it.”
My friend John had been dating Jill, a woman he met online, for about three months, but he was starting to have doubts.
I, too, had my doubts that Jill was a good fit for John. I had wondered whether he was compatible with a woman who talks about chakras, her inner child, and self-care — often.
I thought it was a bit comical that John, the uber-responsible, even-keeled, logical John, was dating a woman who lit a lot of candles because “aromatherapy is therapy”.
I mean, opposites supposedly attract, but that really is polar opposite from John who pretty much has every box checked on a checklist of stereotypical, engineer traits.
But it turns out, those differences weren’t the reasons for John’s doubts about Jill.
