Hello again, Dr. Robson--Let's do hope that women--and men--don't allow themselves to be blinded in such a fashion. If they are so blinded, I hope they learn what to do to prevent such blinding. It would seem a bit sketchy to say, "Marriage is bad because some people let themselves get blinded". Likewise, I think it's wonderful that marriage 'as currently practiced' doesn't have to be a patriarchal institution tho I understand it once was. Indeed, it's wonderful that women and men can choose to create marriages in which their labor is not exploited. But that's a focus I have. Those who choose to focus on the awfulness of the institution rather than the improvement of individual decisions and behaviors are certainly welcome to have that focus. --Lee
