Hello, Brian Lee--I've gotta say, I've got no skin in the game on this one. I have really thought how unfair it was that men I knew got taken for so much money in divorce. Since I haven't had kids, and since my husband and I completely agreed to never take anything from each other, I never suffered any of the divorce costs. So learning about this a bit more was eye-opening for me. It helped me understand why men and women are at such a stalemate in divorces. I see why women might feel justified in the prices they ask for in divorce, and I also see why men might view those prices as unfair. I don't relate to either party, but I sympathize very much with both, including the kids who get caught up in the crossfire.

I did think it interesting tho that some places are banning surrogacy because, in part, it's considered too dangerous a way to make money. Guess it's not too dangerous for women who want to be moms and men who want to be dads.

It's funny that that the price of a kid is only about double the average price of a new car!:) Tho I'm pleased to say I keep my car purchases far, far below the average. And the cost of weddings--I can't even imagine spending that much--or much--on such, but to each his own...
