Hello, Evelyn--Thank you for reading, and it's good to hear your thoughts.
Something I've appreciated as I--and the men I've dated--have gotten older is that men in the 45+ age bracket are generally pretty good about not being as 'action-oriented' as we may have experienced when younger. I do see many of them genuinely prioritizing connecting with a woman rather than being focused as much on getting a woman to bed. In this piece, I see some men genuinely wanting to connect but not recognizing that this sort of text has come to represent 'low effort' to women who have seen the pattern of men sending this text never really...doing much to 'make things happen'. Women may be becoming more wary of the guy who ends up letting the woman do all the heavy lifting of planning/coordinating more so than wary of the men who are just trying to get laid. It's an interesting age bracket to be dating in! --Lee
