Hello, J--Thank you for reading what I've written and sharing your thoughts. Reading comments here have definitely made me think through this all more closely, and the best I can figure so far is that we're better off finding someone who matches our belief. For those who are against a legally-binding certificate, it may be best they only get involved in relationships with others who are also against a legally-binding certificate. The people who are ok with legally-binding certificates may be better-suited with people who are also ok with the legal binding. It just seems like matching up on this critical belief may be more optimal than trying to persuade someone that they shouldn't believe what they believe or shouldn't want what they want.
