Hello, Karen--Statistics can be quite suspect, for sure. If one out of two people get divorced, saying "50% of those people got divorced" is true, yet we likely need to be cautious in forming any beliefs or making and decisions based on statistics from two people. Like you, I so hope people don't base major life decisions on just a superficial reading of a statistic. Then again, if hearing that 92% of people who drink five carbonated, sugary beverages a day get rotten teeth would guide people to drink less of those beverages, I'm kind of glad. So maybe I'm a hypocrite in that I do support statistics that might guide people to healthy choices. Hm. I'll have to think about that more:( But when it comes to marriage and divorce, I agree with you--no risk, no reward!:)
