Hello, the Garrulous Glaswegian--You make some insightful points, ones I didn't even consider. But...heck yeah! As I'm sifting through comments here, I keep thinking: It's quite ok for this man to not want to get married again. And it's quite ok for him to tell a woman he refuses to get married again. Maybe the part that isn't ok: He treats her like she 'should' agree with him or he tries to persuade her to be willing to be with him tho their views on a very important topic are very different. I keep thinking it's best he just go find someone who agrees with his views. How very sensible of a person who recognizes, "We're very different on this very critical belief", to say "Check, please".

It was so good to read that you are happily married for a second time. That's encouraging to those of us who are told we're quite silly to consider re-marrying. Thank you for weighing in...(By the way, I used to live in Stirling, so perhaps we were once neighbors!:)
