Hello, XX — I can see how it might have been designed that way. If it was still that way, or if I in any way thought it was going to be a trap for women now, I wouldn’t be willing to get married. But it didn’t seem to be that way in my first marriage, and I don’t see marriage as being that way any more, so I’m willing to get re-married.

I see it like this: A mustang was designed to go, say, 150 miles per hour, but just because it was designed for that doesn’t mean I use it for that. I’d just use it for my daily commute to work:)

I’m personally so glad for the many changes that have been made since the days when marriage involved dowries and women being subjected to the will of their husbands. We just have to make sure we don’t let ourselves get trapped in a situation we don’t like since we don’t have to be trapped any more.
