How to Handle the People Who Ghost You Then Pop Back Up Out of the Blue

If the person you met online ghosted you, then starts texting again, do you give him a second chance?

He looked like an Italian Tom Cruise — floppy hair tinged with gray in just the right way, muscular torso, well-proportioned. And his online profile said he was 5’9”, which I consider a plus.

He messaged me, and then there was a flurry of interesting texts for a few days.

Then he called, but we only spoke about 4 minutes before he had to go into a meeting. He said, “I’ll call you later.” But he didn’t call back, and he stopped texting.

I got ghosted.

Sure, I speculated about why.

Perhaps in that 4 minutes he got the quick read he needed to realize I wasn’t someone he wanted to pursue. Fair enough. I’ve done that too — quickly deciding someone wasn’t for me after very little interaction.
