I made peace with this long ago, that he (or anyone) is allowed to choose whether to get help or not. It's on the rest of us to decide whether or not to allow ourselves to be with someone who hurts us when they won't get help.

I'm just glad he has a great tribe of friends and family to give him a mostly full life. He made it clear that, before we dated, he was 100% happy with his life so didn't feel a need to have a SO, so I think that's part of the reason he doesn't get help. He's happy with his life as is and doesn't need the work it would take to have a physically intimate relationship with a SO. Lesson learned, Jesse, lesson learned.
