I'm from that generation, Cinette! Cell phones didn't come into my sphere until after university. I miss the days of only getting in touch 'when you had something to say'. I try to understand that when someone gets in touch to say basically nothing, what they're really saying is "I like you" but...it's like I was being scolded for not saying "I like you too" back multiple times a day.
I was surprised the second guy came out and said "you not texting back quickly made me feel unimportant". I'd never want to make someone feel unimportant, but...if his feelings of importance are based on whether a woman he met once a week ago does or doesn't text back immediately...mercy.
That's the good thing about time...over time we can clarify what we are and aren't ok with--who is ok with midnight texting and who isn't. That can all be ironed out so when we know what the person isn't ok with, we can adhere...but to nix people in the first week because they don't already know and abide by one's preferences...whew. That's something.
