Oh William...I so wish you can find a lawyer. With this information, there's likely a way to take this on, but it's going to take the right lawyer to fight the good fight. I once had to fight some international tax stuff. After the first lawyer said I should just pay up, I pretty much read everything on the relevant laws, found ones that fit, wrote up my own affidavits with a ton of appendices and attachments with the evidence, learning everything that had to be done. Then I found the lawyer so that all he needed to do was file the information I gathered. This is probably nothing like what you're dealing with, but I guess I just wanted you to know there may be a way. Even if it doesn't work out...I can't help but think there may be some advocacy groups you can call on, but the more organized info you can give them, spelling the case out in clear, unemotional terms, like a chronological chain of paperwork...that might be more persuasive. Regardless...I hope you keep writing your kids. Even if those letters don't make it to your kids, when they are of age, and they see that you never stopped trying and you never forgot them, that will be the evidence you can show them that you are the good man they knew and remember you to be. I'm so very sorry that this woman...stripped you of so much. Yet I'm so very impressed with you for recognizing that it was this one woman who did this, that plenty of other women and people are good, and that, with, understandably, good protections in place, you can create a warm, lasting, healthy relationship in the future. I'm so sorry, William. You don't ask for sympathy, but I give it freely.
