One woman told me that men who wanted to be married and have family shouldn't be in the military because if they got killed, he wouldn't be there for his family. While I understood, I found it interesting that this same woman was writing about how the need for humanitarian relief to go to a place, writing that military should escort them so they'd be safe. She's saying we need military--people to risk their lives--but also saying military people shouldn't have family/spouses...did she mean miliary should be like Catholic clergy? That military people shouldn't have the love of family back home? Probably she just sympathized with the plight of women whose husbands are away fighting without seeing the flip side of the man out fighting who might want still want a family life...
