Thank you, Jonathan. I kind of think the Sparks movies are a bit more drippy than I can handle. I lean more towards romantic movies like "Predator" where the leader of a military special ops team meets a nice woman out in the jungle. That's a romantic movie, right?;)

Oh--I never heard the term zombie marriage so had to go look it up. Super interesting!

And you're quite right that what I wrote here didn't take into account the people who don't aren't technically married yet have stuck together for decades. We could likely learn quite a bit from them about how to stick by someone's side, regardless of whether we're actually married or not.
