You make a great case. It's not lazy--it's sensible--to stop working hard if you're not being compensated adequately for your work. It's surprising, though, that people who work hard for adequate income will tolerate someone mooching off them--crashing on their couches, as you said--for long, so I'm interested to see how that plays out.
